The Cell was inaugurated on 28^th January, 2019 by Dr. T. Ramakrishna, Professor of Law, Chair Professor (IPR), National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. Dr. Arkalgud Ramaprasad, Director, Public Policy Centre and Prof. S Subramanian, Secretary, KSCST presided over the function. 

 

The Inaugural ceremony was followed by a two day workshop on Intellectual Property Rights for the Faculty and Staff of all Institutions under the Gokula Education Trust.

As a part of the World Intellectual Property Day, 2019, RIPRC, in association with KSCST and CIPAM, conducted various competitions and Workshops to spread awareness on various dimensions of intellectual property to various stakeholders and the public.

Giving Preference to the WIPO theme for World IP Day 2019, a one day State Level Workshop was organized on Intellectual Property and Sports on 27^th April, 2019. The Workshop disseminated information about the relevance of Intellectual Property in the Sports arena. It focused to sensitizing those working and interacting with various sporting events and activities, about the IP they deal with, during the course of activities. The Workshop was attended by Physical Education Directors / Instructors of various Institutions/ Universities across Karnataka besides other stake holders.

An IP – Run “Track for IP” was organized on 29^th April 2019, from RIPRC to KSCST and back, in order to spread awareness about the protection of Intellectual Property to the Public at large.

A one - day Workshop was organized on the Management of Intellectual property in Life Sciences Industry, for the Post Graduate Students of Life Sciences of Ramaiah College of Arts, Science and Commerce, on 30^th April, 2019.

RIPRC attended the stakeholders meet convened by the Government of Karnataka in association with VTPC, to deliberate on the draft Policy on Geographical Indications (GI) for the State, and to elucidate feedback from those concerned on 14^th February, 2019.

Students of RCL also attended the National IP Workshop organised by VTPC, Govt. of Karnataka in collaboration with FICCI, Karnataka and IIM, Bangalore on 22nd February 2019 at IIM Bangalore.
